Meet the Vet 2 Home Team

Kirsty with one
of her pets "Gipsy"

Dr Kirsty Hughes (BSc, BVSc)

Kirsty graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2010.  She worked in Albury in a small animal practice for 3 and a half years before moving back to Melbourne.  She then worked in a state of the art emergency veterinary clinic for a while before deciding to set up her own mobile veterinary clinic. She still currently works in a 24 hour emergency centre looking after critically ill patients, and also owns Vet 2 Home.

Kirsty is planning to study for her Masters degree in 2017 in small animal emergency and crticial care.  She has a special interest in emergency medicine, internal medicine, birds, pocket pets and, of course, dogs and cats.

Kirsty has been a member of the Australian Veterinary Association and the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association since 2006, and tries to attend a conference at least once a year to keep up to date with the latest knowledge and treatments.

Kirsty lives with her three trouble-making pomeranians, a cheeky cat called Friday and a forever-hungry cat called Dot.

Kirsty also runs a dedicated at home euthanasia business called "Paws Forever" that can visit your house day or night to offer end of life care. More information can be found at:

The Ambulance

You might see us driving around - we are hard to miss! The van we drive around in is a fully fitted-out, customised ex-amublance! It has plenty of storage space so that we can bring most of the equipment a veterinary clinic would normally have right to your front door.
